Is Tiger Woods returning to the course? Yes! Is it for a PGA Tour event? No! The GOAT will be in action at a golf event not many might have heard of. It’s the Seminole Pro-Member event. What is the event? Well, it pairs up the biggest golfers in the world with the most influential individuals. For example, Patrick Cantlay had teamed up with the Director of Goldman Sachs, Mark Flaherty.

The field is packed with elite individuals on both sides of the world as everyone comes together to play in the most exclusive event in golf. Hence, it’s often considered the first major of the year. And Tiger Woods will participate in the tournament like he has done in the past. The same was confirmed by TWSPOT on Instagram a few minutes ago. He will be teeing off with his partner, Seth Waugh at 7:38 A.M. Waugh is the former CEO of the PGA of America who vacated the position in mid 2024 (EST).

The tournament will also feature other top golfers like Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa, etc. Last year, Nelly Korda had also made the list of one of the elite golfers to participate in the tournament. However, there are no reports of her and her partner, John Waldron, in the tournament. Unfortunately, there are no reports of the event being televised this year, unlike it has on NBC Sports in the past. Hence, you might not be able to watch Woods, McIlroy, or others in action live. However, various golf media outlets will report the latest scores from the tournament on social media. Last year, Golf Channel’s 5 Clubs podcast account did so on X.

Having said that, how have the top golfers performed in the event in the past? Let’s take a peek at last year’s results.

Tiger Woods & Co.’s Seminole Pro-Member 2024 performance

Tiger Woods and Seth Waugh failed to impress in both the rounds of the event in 2024. In the first 18, the pair finished at T44 with 70 strokes. In the second round of the event, Woods & Waugh had 3 fewer strokes. But they still finished at T33, 5 strokes away from the top of the leaderboard.

Speaking of Rory McIlroy and his father, Gerry McIlroy fared much better with T20 and T22 finishes in the first and second round. They broke 70 on both occasions. Interestingly, American businessman and philanthropist, David Novak, and Collin Morikawa also had the same score as the McIlroy’s in both the rounds.

Will Tiger Woods and Seth Waugh be able to improve on their performance this year? Will Team McIlroy or the pairing of Morikawa and Novak rise the rankings in the 2025 Seminole Pro-Member? Who do you think is going to come out on top this year? Let us know in the comments section.
