Dubai Desert Classic goes green with new partners

Three weeks before the Dubai Desert Classic, its organizers got into a partnership with IFZA, which is a Free Zone community-based in Dubai. They provide state-of-the-art facilities and solutions for SMEs through their range of professional partners. According to its website, it calls itself the free zone ecosystem designed for growth.
IFZA will be providing support to the Desert Classic, and as a commendable green effort, it will also plant a mangrove sapling for each car that avails of parking services outside the venue during the event. On behalf of the committee, Simon Corkill, Executive Tournament Director of the tournament, said that the organizers are elated to bring this partnership to reality.
According to Corkill, this collaboration will play a big role in increasing the economic growth of Dubai. Further in his statement, he added that this move will also help the Tour raise its world status while delivering a first-class experience for fans and golfers, alike.

He said, “This collaboration is another step forward that will help enhance our position as one of the leading golf tournaments in the global calendar while providing memorable experiences for players, officials, and our fans alike.” In return, IFZA is also equally excited about this new venture.
IFZA hopes to make a contribution to the environment with this association
IFZA’s CEO, Jochen Knechtal, released a statement talking about the partnership with DPWT. The CEO said that the aim behind this partnership is to make an affirmative environmental impact with this association. Knecht said, “Through our IFZA Cares program, we have strong social and environmental values, which we will bring to life at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic through our mangrove planting initiative.” Knechtal also praised the event’s legacy and appreciated the DPWT for bringing the finest golfers to Dubai every year for the past 35 years.

He also talked about positioning “Dubai as a strategic business and lifestyle destination” for all the “business leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world” who wish to establish their businesses in Dubai.
