The CME Group Tour Championship is more than just a season finale for the LPGA; it’s an event that stands out because it’s not only about the competition but also about making a difference. Thanks to the CME Group Cares Challenge, a charitable program running throughout the LPGA season, the tournament raises significant funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, dedicated to advancing treatments for childhood cancer. So it is fair to say that every swing players take becomes more than just a shot at victory—it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

How, you ask?

Well, every time an LPGA pro makes a hole-in-one, CME Group donates $20,000 to St. Jude. This year, the program has already raised $560,000, surpassing its $500,000 commitment, thanks to remarkable shots from players like A Lim Kim and Jennifer Song at the LOTTE Championship. So now you see, these aces are more than just perfect shots—they directly support life-changing research at St. Jude.

Looking back, the program has become a tradition, consistently raising hundreds of thousands each season, with previous totals reaching $888,156 in 2021 and $660,000 in 2022. And last year, in the 2023 season, LPGA players tallied 18 hole-in-ones, bringing in $360,000 for St. Jude.

With The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican underway, the LPGA season is nearing its end, with only the grand finale left: the CME Group Tour Championship. But now at its final stretch for both the top rankings and about making a lasting impact. And speaking of the latter, none has had more of an impact than the LPGA star Jiwon Jeon!

With the stakes higher than ever, and each player’s ace counting, Jiwon Jeon has made moves! Throughout this season she’s made 3 aces. The latest came just yesterday and even helped take her to the top of the leaderboard at the event (tied at first alongside Charley Hull after round one).

Her other two aces came earlier during the season. The first came at the Portland Classic, and her second at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, where she made an impressive 171-yard shot with a 5-iron on the par-3 7th hole. Hence, now in total, Jiwon Jeon has contributed a whopping $60,000 to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital this season.

And there’s time still. She has 3 more days at the Annika, and the finale too. So, could she make another ace(or more) and further increase her donation and impact towards the children this season? Tune in to find out.
