A change in the format was made in the fourth round, which will carry on to the fifth round as well. The first three rounds had 108 pros and split into 36 teams of three for the team event. With the addition of one amateur per team, each team had four players.
In the fourth round in Hong Kong, however, only 28 teams, of four members each, competed in the round, in comparison to the 36 teams in the earlier rounds. This means 84 pros and 28 amateurs participated in the event. The same number of people will compete in the final round in Riyadh as well.
The format of the round works like this. A team event will happen on the first two days, and one team will finish as the winning team. Besides the team event, there is a three-day individual stroke play event for 84 pros.

After the first two days, when the team event would also be over, a cut will happen in the field for the individual competition. The cut will shortlist 60 positions and ties for the final day, where the pros will compete for the individual title. The performances in the individual competition award points for the Costa Del Sol Spanish Open and the Rolex World Ranking positions.
