While the men’s golf scene remains focused on its reunification efforts, women’s golf continues to make groundbreaking strides, pushing the boundaries and reshaping the future of the sport. With the game evolving in exciting ways, the Epson Tour is now making waves by announcing a major new partnership with MGI Golf, a global leader in electric caddy technology. This partnership, coupled with a major change in the Epson Tour’s regulations, will allow players to use electric caddies during competition – a first for a major professional tour.

“We are thrilled to welcome MGI Golf as a partner,” said Jody Brothers, the Epson Tour’s Chief Business and Operating Officer. “The change in our player regulations, allowing this partnership to come to life, will have a monumental impact on our athletes who do not regularly utilize a caddy. Our goal as a Tour is to make the dream of playing on the LPGA Tour accessible for all our members, and this is a significant step in the right direction.”

Through the partnership, MGI will support the Tour athletes with exclusive pricing on MGI products throughout the season. Additionally, the Australian-owned company will have the opportunity to sign Epson Tour athletes as brand ambassadors for the 2025 season. Miranda Turner, CEO of MGI Golf Inc., expressed her excitement, stating, “We are more than excited to partner with the Epson Tour as it continues to redefine the future of women’s golf in the U.S. The Epson Tour is truly leading the charge, demonstrating innovation, talent, and the vital role it plays in developing the next generation of LPGA stars.”

While slow play still remains a major issue with the PGA Tour, it looks like the LPGA Tour has come up with a solution for that as well. Talk about revolutionizing the sport!

LPGA Tour’s new guidelines for pace of play

The LPGA is making a bold move to speed up play with its new Pace of Play Policy, and it’s set to shake up how tournaments are run. Starting this March and April, players will be under closer scrutiny when it comes to time limits. Here’s the deal: if a group falls behind, they’ll get a warning. But if they don’t speed things up, they’ll be timed. The penalties? They’re designed to get players’ attention. A slight overrun of 1-5 seconds results in a fine, 6-15 seconds over means a one-shot penalty, and if they’re more than 16 seconds over, it’s a two-shot penalty. Yikes!
