So Hideki Matsuyama’s 2024 golf season has been a real rollercoaster ride, with plenty of ups and downs. But despite all the twists and turns, he’s consistently shown off his amazing skill and determination. I mean, the guy’s had some pretty notable performances, like his T12 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and his T35 finish at the PGA Championship. And let’s not forget his impressive T6 finish at THE PLAYERS Championship and T7 finish at the Valero Texas Open. Throughout the season, Matsuyama’s been pushing himself to be his best, and it’s earned him a reputation as one of the most formidable golfers on the tour.

As the year wraps up, Matsuyama’s official payouts for 2024 are estimated to be a staggering $10,304,353, plus a Tour Top 10 Bonus of $2,400,000. That brings his total earnings for the year to an impressive $12,704,353. This significant influx of wealth has undoubtedly cemented Matsuyama’s status as one of the highest-paid golfers on the PGA Tour. And it’s not hard to see why as his victories have been nothing short of spectacular. Take his win at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, for example. He took home an impressive $3,600,000 in prize money for his victory. And earlier in the season, he also won the Genesis Invitational, securing a $4,000,000 prize. I mean, the guy’s on fire.

But what really stood out about his win at the St. Jude Championship was the dramatic comeback he staged. After trailing by a significant margin, Matsuyama rolled in a 25-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole to regain the lead. He then hit two precise shots on the final hole to secure a two-shot victory over Xander Schauffele and Viktor Hovland. Reflecting on his win, Matsuyama said, “I felt today’s victory slipping away…but I’m glad I was able to birdie the last two holes.” This thrilling victory showed the world just how good of a golfer Matsuyama really is!
