Greg Norman’s time as the commissioner is over. But his tenure with LIV Golf is still ongoing. While Scott O’Neil has taken up Norman’s position, the latter still remains with the PIF-backed promotion until the end of August 2025. His role still remains undefined, but his plans for after his contract is up have already come to light.
The Australian veteran recently interviewed with the Australian GolfDigest about everything golf. He discussed the current state of the sport, his views about the PGA Tour and TGL, and many other subjects. But what caught a lot of attention was the projects he had been planning to work on after his LIV Golf contract was over. So what are Greg Norman’s plans after leaving LIV Golf?
Greg Norman wants to grow his brand

Greg Norman is famous for his LIV Golf and PGA Tour exploits. However, there is one other role that he has fulfilled exceptionally well in the past. Norman is also famous for taking up golf course designing projects. He has had quite a few golf courses to his name and is one of the leaders in this industry.
In Norman’s interview with Australian GolfDigest, he said “I’d like to double the portfolio of golf courses I’ve opened. I’ve done 124 now.” It seems that he wants to enhance his portfolio vastly. He also added, “I’d love to have 250 done in the next whatever number of years.” It seems that Greg Norman is planning a long-term future in the golf course design space. After the late Arnold Palmer, he has been one of the top golfers to indulge in such projects. Norman taking it up full-time is definitely great for the sport.

Award-winning golf courses designed by the former LIV Golf commissioner
Most recently, the Al Mouj Golf Course in Oman received numerous awards for being one of the best courses in Oman. This was one of the golf courses Greg Norman and his GNGCD team had designed. The Al Mouj was also the venue that hosted the opening event of The International Series 2024 season. The Oman-based course had also been awarded the Players Choice Golf Course of the Year in early 2024 by pros from the Asian Tour.

The beautiful Grove Living Club in Tennessee is also another project that was designed by the Greg Norman Golf Course Design firm. Norman’s firm had also designed the Ayla Golf Club in Jordan. The course received many sustainability awards nationally, regionally, and globally.
