Murray’s taking his many talents to the amazing 2024 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship alongside many other A-list celebrities and golf pros. The event combines a DP World Tour Professional Tournament with a Team Championship, which brings together the best of both worlds.

The professional tournament offers a whopping $4.8 million prize fund and extremely sought-after European Tour and World Ranking points, which makes it a must-watch for all golf fans. Murray’s love for golf is well documented, and the fans are often very excited when they hear that he is competing somewhere. Over the years, he has made several lighthearted remarks about the sport.

He has participated in many celebrity golf tournaments, which included the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the American Century Championship. In 2022, during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Bill Murray’s golf game paused for a bit at the 17th tee. But what happened next will be etched in the memories of a young fan named Brady Wonhof forever. While waiting to tee off, Murray invited Brady and his mom for a photo. While the fan’s mom took a picture, Murray said something that just made her day: “And by the way, those are some incredible highlights.”

This kindness and fun that Murray brings to the course is what he is known for. But you’ll be surprised to know how his brother Joel Murray describes him as a person. When a reporter asked Murray’s brother Joel about growing up with the legendary actor, Joel didn’t take any time to answer, “I know him pretty well, you could say. There’s still a little mystery, though; we never shared a room.”

Joel himself is a very notable figure among Freddy Rumsen fans and was following his sibling around the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament. Joel also shared insights into his childhood with Murray.

“Well, when you’ve got nine kids under one roof and you’re competing for dad’s attention at the dinner table against Bill Murray and the guy who wrote Caddyshack [Brian Doyle-Murray, Bill and Joel’s older brother], well, that’s some decent competition,” Joel said per SF Gate. He also said that Murray tries to bring the light into a room and is the life of a party. “I can say Bill wants to keep life light when he can, and he does a great job at it. He’s always been an interesting one.”
