Ruoning Yin was No. 10 in the race for the CME Globe Standings. Then she finished with a remarkable 25 under par, at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, defeating Japan’s Mao Saigo, and Kim Sei-young of South Korea for a six-stroke victory. This put her up four places on the list, and she is currently at No. 6 of the Race to CME Globe Standings.
Additionally, at the Aon Risk Reward Challenge 2024 statistics, she overtook Lilia Vu and is currently at 0.929 shots. This has given her the solo lead. The Aon Risk Reward Challenge is the “season-long competition that rewards players who make better decisions on the most strategically challenging holes across the LPGA Tour and PGA Tour.” But what exactly is the challenge all about?
The Aon Risk Reward Challenge is like a season-long competition on the LPGA Tour for the top female golfers. It is a unique challenge that brings forward the best players as they battle through some of the toughest and most strategically challenging holes throughout the entire season of the Tour. The one who has the best average score to par as the challenge concludes at the end of the regular season wins the trophy, and a million dollars.

Over the past five years, this challenge has brought not only substantial prize money to our players, but it has also helped shed a spotlight on our league. A special congratulations to Angel on becoming this year’s Challenge champion, adding another incredible achievement to her already outstanding season,” said LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan.

If the momentum continues for Ruoning Yin, a pretty much similar story for the Aon Risk Reward Challenge will be repeated once again. Even last year, it was a Chinese professional who bagged the trophy from the LPGA Tour.

Angel Yin bags the 2023 Aon Risk Reward Challenge
Angel Yin bagged the champion trophy of the 2023 Aon Risk Reward Challenge, along with a prize pool of $1 million. “I’m thrilled to be named the Aon Risk Reward Challenge Champion this year. Golf is shaped by decision-making under pressure, so it’s great to be recognized for something that is so key to success in this game. Several talented players have won this title before me, and it’s an honor to join in this legacy and stand alongside them as a winner of the Aon Trophy,” said Yin after she won.
Just like Ruoning Yin, she too had bagged the victory at the Buick LPGA Shanghai a month earlier. She defeated Lilia Vu in the Sunday playoff and took over the title with a one-stroke lead. This is the fifth edition of the Challenge, and well, it looks like Ruoning Yin is pretty much on the road to following the footprints of Angel Yin.
