Bryson DeChambeau’s feats at LIV Golf are proving his decision to leave the PGA Tour right. The Open Champion recently won the LIV Golf Miami and went home with a hefty check. The golfer is now entering the business side of golf with his first venture.
Bryson DeChambeau has partnered with a local Texas startup, UnderPar Life, to start a golf venue filled with a golf instruction academy, 3 bars, a kitchen, and a driving range. However, the latest venture has a worthy rival – Topgolf!
What is Topgolf?

Topgolf is a golf venture that started in 2000. Since then, it has grown globally while attracting newer golfers. Topgolf presents its patrons with various exciting games in the driving range, an all-time available staff, delicious food and beverages, and a climate-controlled venue to entertain the public. It has operating ventures in the US, Mexico, Colombia, the UK, Germany, Portugal, Spain, UAE, China, and Thailand.
You can probably find one near you if you’re in the U.S. Topgolf has branches in 35 US states and Texas has the highest number of them. If you are a Texan, search it up and visit the venue for a golf shot. The venture describes itself as 100% Golf and 100% Not Golf. It has all the equipment from clubs to tees and turf, good food, a bar with various drinks, and HDTV’s with music.
How to check in?
Topgolf brags a 3 story building with dozens of bays. Simply walk in and confirm your tee time or book your bay online. Each bay can hold a group of six people. After checking in, the staff will lead you to your respective bay and explain the safety precautions.

Inside the bay, you can select from different games to play as the bay host will help you set up your profiles. The games are made to cater to any skill level. So if you play golf every day or have never picked up a club in your life, Topgolf has games for all. The venue allows the usage of your clubs but you can also use theirs.
What are the games?
Each ball has been micro-chipped, so while you enjoy hitting it off, the scores can be recorded easily. There are 13 games for unique skill sets and they are listed below.

- TopGolf – Hit the target as accurately as you can, the farthest distance you can reach and you get more points.
- Angry Birds – Balls act as birds and destroy the building, simultaneously defeating pigs and earning points.
- Quick 9 – Three targets, Red, Yellow, and Green. Aim to hit the center with accuracy and gain points. For beginners to advanced.
- Top Score – Target set at the farthest distance, earn points by hitting it far and closest to the center.
- Top Shot – Four targets to hit, Red, Yellow, Green, and Brown having consecutive distances of 5 shots. Miss a target and lose your points. For beginners to advanced.
- Jewel Jam – Match three or more jewels and points are added to your name.
- Top Chip – Similar to Top Shot, except the targets are three and the shots are different.
- Top Pressure – Hit the 9 sections in the Yellow target accurately and move up the levels.
- Top Scramble – Two teams compete against each other and the best score is counted.
- Closest to the Hole – Take 9 shots on popular courses and the ball closest to the hole wins.
- Top Drive – Hit the farthest target and score points.
- Virtual Courses – Select the famous courses and choose the no.of holes you wish to play.
Golf lessons, pricing, and more
Topgolf also offers classes and lessons for everyone. They can range from $29 to $179, depending on your needs. New players have to pay a $5 one-time membership fee. 18 and under should have a 21+ adult supervising them after 9:00 pm while 16 and under have to have a 21+ adult supervising them at all times.
