After his impressive performance in the first round, where Wells sank a 15-foot birdie putt, negotiated a challenging par, and narrowly missed a hole-out, he captured the spotlight. In the second round, the golfer further showcased his skill by making the cut, cementing his status among the Tour pros.

Later, a post from the PGA of America revealed that Wells is both a PGA of America golf professional and the PGA Director of Player Development at Cypress Lake Golf Club. This position entails overseeing a comprehensive player development program, guided by seasoned professionals.

The development program aims to provide customized instruction, guidance, and support, catering to players of every skill level, to enhance their abilities and realize their utmost potential. The director is wholly devoted to aiding the members. Moreover, Cypress Lake Golf Club provides a range of golf-related programs and events, allowing players to unwind and stay connected to the game.

Upon achieving this milestone, Wells shared his excitement during a press conference at Valhalla when questioned about it. “What’s it like to represent all the PGA of America members on a national stage at the PGA Championship in the spotlight now on the weekend, too?” He excitedly replied and posed the question, “Yeah, great. How many made the cut so far?”

While addressing Wells’s inquiry, the interviewer disclosed that two or three members had successfully made the cut up to that point. In response, the pro reiterated his excitement, expressing, “So that’s fantastic. There’s plenty of us in here. Two or three guys to play on the weekend and be able to compete with the top half of this field or more, I think, is an incredible accomplishment. I am super proud to work alongside and be mentored by so many great PGA members.”

While Wells is devoted to aiding others in enhancing their golf skills, what does his golfing journey look like? Let us find out!
