Brooks Koepka did not become a millionaire after jumping ships to LIV Golf. Even before it, the 5-time major winner was earning millions on the PGA Tour. His Tour earnings came to be more than $43 million before he joined LIV Golf in the middle of 2022. Although his on-course earnings make the most of his net worth, Koepka also has many endorsements as he is one of the trending golfers. Of his many deals, the longest is probably with Nike.
In 2016, Koepka was one of the 12 golfers Nike signed for apparel and golf clubs. However, in just a few months, Swoosh exited the golf club manufacturing market, and his deal was adjusted to apparel only. Through endorsements, Koepka earns $8 million every year, per Forbes. Although the exact worth of his contract with Nike is not disclosed, it could be assessed through the total he earns. Over the years, Koepka has signed with other brands including Rolex, the private jet company NetJets, and Srixon, which sponsors the 5-time major winner’s bag.
Even if it is assumed that Koepka gets equally from all the endorsements, the 34-year-old probably earns $2 million from the Nike deal. However, the LIV golfer has been wearing the Swoosh for the last nine years, and his contract is probably worth more than “just” $2 million. The BBC reported that a Nike deal for a golfer is usually calculated by their ranking points, and each point is worth $10,000 for high-ranking players. If going by that, Koepka was ranked inside the top 20, and after that, he had 5 major titles; accordingly, he might have gotten anywhere around $5-8 million from it.

Nike’s deal with Brooks Koepka’s team
After Brooks Koepka completed nine years with Nike this January, the athletic firm collaborated with his LIV Golf team, Smash GC, going into the 2024 season. The deal came a few days after Tiger Woods and Nike broke their 27-year-old partnership. Although not much was known about the deal, the team posted one item, which was the product of their partnership.

The one item Smash GC posted on X was the Nike shoes, which had the trademarked SMASH written on the right side of the shoes. The pair also had the Smash colors, black and blue. Although it was a partnership with Koepka’s team, the contract with Nike still does not allow the 5-time major winner to wear any of his team apparel.
What’s your perspective on:
Does Brooks Koepka's Nike deal make him a sellout, or is he just securing his future?
Have an interesting take?
The team has clarified many times that Koepka does not wear the team logos and polos because he has been under a contract clause with Nike. Unlike the LIV Golf contract, which states that LIV golfers need their team logos and merchandise, it seems Koepka isn’t under that obligation. Nonetheless, Koepka and Nike have been going strong for nine years and surely would hold the contract in the future too.
