Mike Thomas is a Kentucky resident and the child of Paul Thomas. Senior Thomas’s father was a PGA professional who had made appearances at the 1962 U.S. Open and the 1983 US Senior Open. JT’s grandfather finished in the 15th position at the 1962 US Open. Henceforth, golf sure runs in Thomas’s blood. The PGA pro’s father was pushed into the golf world early.

The 64-year-old took the job of head coach at the Harmony Landing Country Club in Goshen, Kentucky, in 1990, and has been at the same job since then. Justin Thomas’s father is a well-known figure in the golfing community and has a lot of golf experience. His passion and mentorship of the game have made JT the exceptional golfer he is now.

While giving an interview to Justin Thomas’s bag partner, Titleist, Harmony’s head coach was asked if his son was a child prodigy. To which he said that it was apparent he was different, as “he always hit it very solid at a young age. He was extremely driven,” even though he was smaller than others.

Moreover, the 30-year-old was always on the golf course alongside his father and grandfather, which helped him observe the game of golf closely and enhance his skills.
