Akshay Bhatia scored his first Korn Ferry Tour victory with a special person on his bag. Presleigh Schultz, his girlfriend, was looping for him. Bhatia was still a struggling pro, and Schultz still had very little idea of what she was doing. Two years later, Bhatia is a two-time PGA Tour winner, and Schultz has ditched the bag.

They are still together, mind you. In fact, Bhatia asked her hand for marriage and she said yes. Nevertheless, Schultz seems to have swapped her caddying duties for handling a different part of her soon-to-be husband’s life.

Presleigh Schultz manages the numbers of Bhatia

Presleigh Schultz’s Instagram bio reads, “I’m somewhere watching Akshay Bhatia golf.” That’s not an exaggeration. She certainly travels with Bhatia and walks 72 holes. Schultz is believed to manage the finances of her pro-golfer boyfriend. She, per some reports, looks after Bhatia’s endorsement and advertising revenues. 

Interestingly, like many WAGs, she has also looped for the PGA Tour Pro at times. Talking about her impact, Bhatia said after his first PGA Tour victory at the Barracuda Championship last year, “She has seen me cry in the hotel room and seen me super happy. For her to see me here, she always keep telling me how good I am, even if I question myself sometimes.”

Theirs is a case of modern romance—Bhatia rolled into her DM. Up until then, Golf was another four-letter word for Schultz. Her brother played, and she knew that you needed to hit the ball with a stick. That’s there. None of them have yet spent even a quarter of a century on earth, but their feelings reek of the old-school love of ‘Casablanca,’ ‘Roman Holiday’, ‘His Girl Friday’ and the like. 

Akshay Bhatia is head over heels for Schultz

Akshay Bhatia almost choked up while talking about her girlfriend last year. Schultz travels with him every week he plays. Not just that, she follows the 22-year-old throughout the four rounds. “She had no idea what golf was when I first met her… She travels every week with me. It’s not easy. Especially, because it’s all about me 100% of the time. For her to support me every week, to walk 72 holes every single week… I couldn’t imagine my life without her.”

While Bhatia is busy on the course, Schultz takes care of his needs. Peanut sandwiches and jelly. The two are set to get married sometime soon. Akshay Bhatia got down on one knee last September at Napa Valley Wine Country. Schultz also loves to travel and share snippets on her social media handle. Beyond that, however, both have kept their life private.
