The whole golfing community was taken aback when the Saudi-funded league was introduced. It changed the face of golf and increased the paychecks of golfers by margins.

LIV Golf has been called many things by many people, even by the most renowned ones. And to add to that list, the Chief of the PGA of America is the most recent person to share his strong take on LIV Golf.

In his recent interview with The Times, Seth Waugh commented harshly on the league and its faulty business model.

Seth Waugh’s harsh criticism of LIV Golf 

The chief of PGA of America thinks that LIV Golf’s business model is not a survivable one. The rebel league needs to find ways to reach a settlement stage with the PGA Tour. According to Waugh, the Saudi League has not achieved a lot of success as compared to the money they have invested.

“Their logic about the team play being something significant that people can get behind I think is flawed,” Waugh spoke as mentioned in Golf Monthly . “I don’t think people really care about it. And I don’t see how it’s a survivable business model.”

Continuing his stance, the chief spoke, “They can fund it for as long as they want to, but no matter how much money you have, at some point burning it doesn’t feel very good. I don’t see they are accomplishing much.”

Fans react to PGA of America’s chief’s strong words against LIV Golf 

Many fans came forward in support of LIV Golf and called out the PGA. A fan posted a comment, “Keep denying that LIV is legitimate. That worked out so well last time”

Many fans commented about the kind of money Saudi backed league has;

“He doesn’t understand Saudi money. They could burn 10bil a year indefinitely and never notice”

“$600bn can keep you going for a few weeks though…..”

“I guess we forget who is running LIV. Its not broke ass America, or the PGA.”

“The Saudi Families are worth over a trillion dollars. I think they will be fine”

A fan pointed out that the next thing that LIV Golf will be doing is the Women’s LIV, “Except they can ! And will continue.. next will be WOMANS LIV !!”

A fan posted called out PGA a little hard, and said, “What a clown. PGA is tired”

“Sounds like the PGA chiefs are getting nervous!!” said another comment. 

A LIV fan commented about the Saudi league m bringing forward the change, “You’ve had 100+ years to build your boring product #SethWaugh change is happening and it is happening #LIV

“LIV golf isn’t going anywhere,” said another LIV fan.
