LIV Golf emerged last year and changed the entire look of the sport! Chasing its dream of modernizing golf, the Saudi-backed league has a series that looks quite the opposite of the regular Tours, with very fewer events during the year and introducing teams in its tournaments. And despite this being their second season, many claim that they’re nothing but a fad and will burn out soon. But the CEO, Greg Norman, certainly doesn’t feel the same way. Not as per his recent statement!

Greg Norman silences the doubters

Even though LIV has almost doubled its events and, arguably, even its fan base from last year, many still believe that the league stands no chance in the golf world. With speculation that a third season will never come, they’ve deemed that the new series will soon die out, and the hate from many continue to grow.

But to all those who share that mindset, Greg Norman had a few words ahead of LIV’s Adelaide event in Australia. “Look, we are not going anywhere,” he stated with conviction. “LIV is here for a long, long period of time.” Norman truly believes that the new league is a phenomenon that will change the game of golf as a whole.

The Shark’s faith in the Saudi-backed series is unbound. He hopes that the rest of the world will soon see him live like he does—a game changer. “We’ve made our decision to showcase to the world the product that we truly have,” he stated. “And I hope everybody here really unpacks that business model.”

Norman claimed that he not only wanted his league to flourish but to do it alongside the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour. “We want to coexist within the golf ecosystem,” he stated, reiterating his past words about creating bonds between the two sides. “We want to be part of the system, your system, as much as you be part of our system.”

He believed that the two sides working together instead of against each other could take the sport to a whole new height. “Consistently from day one, we’ve tried to work with both Tours to make sure that we are here for a long, long period of time.”
