In her podcast, Paige Spiranac discussed how her first Airbnb experience was very bad. She was on a vacation with her mom. Paige was excited, and this mother-daughter duo has their own little jokes about their vacations. Every time they are together, something has to go wrong for sure.

Paige and her mother checked in at an Airbnb, but Paige had her doubts. The check-in was easy at 8:30pm, as the host was very welcoming and polite. Right after checking in, they started hearing a sound. According to Paige, it sounded like an alarm. They started searching for it everywhere. They searched every room and bathroom, but they could find nothing. She said, “So we’re freaking out. We’re trying to find this Alarm. We look in the bathroom. We’re like it’s going on.”

After all the noise and constant searching operation, they could not find the source of the sound. So they contacted the host, and to their surprise, his reply was unexpected. Paige and her mother recorded the sound and sent it to the host. He denied that there was any alarm device there, and he said that it was noise from a cicada. Her mother did not like the host’s response. She was raised on a farm, and she knew what she was talking about.

Her mother went full ‘Karen’. She claimed that a small bug like a cicada could not produce such a loud sound. Then entered the caretaker of the property. They made him listen to the sound. To their surprise, he also said that it was a Cicada and not an alarm. However, the question remained: how could a bug make such a loud noise?

They kept quiet for a while, and suddenly, the noise was there again. They started searching again and finally found it in the closet. The bugs were not that small. But their search was over and they got rid of it.
