Steve DiMeglio is probably one of the most-read voices in the game of golf. He has been covering the game of golf for almost 15 years now. He has worked and generated content with both Golfweek and USA TODAY. However, all has not been well for the star reporter lately. He has been fighting cancer for a while now. The golfing world recently came out to support and give tribute to one of the voices who has kept everyone informed.

The PGA Tour, recently, shared a video as a moving tribute to Steve. They acknowledged his presence as a part of the PGA Family. A number of players from the golfing world came in support of the star reporter. The emotional video was heartwarming to watch and probably did turn out as a pillar of strength in Steve’s fight against cancer.

PGA Tour family comes in support of Steve Dimeglio

Steve DiMeglio is one of the biggest names when it comes to reporting events from the golfing world. DiMeglio recently shared his journey with cancer.

The star reported mentioned how he has been fighting Stage 4 rectal cancer that has now even spread to his liver. Cancer is not only physically damaging but also has a strong impact on a person’s emotional and mental health and the people close to him. In order to support DiMeglio in his journey, the PGA Tour came through and shared a heartfelt message on their youtube and all other social media platforms.

The message stated, “The players out here have your back. We’re family. You’re part of the PGA TOUR family. We’re pulling for you. Stay strong, brother. I know you’re gonna fight this fight and win.”

The sweet message started with Rory McIlroy expressing his feelings for the star reporter. The video then included almost 15-20 other golfers coming in support of Steve in these tough times.

McIlroy said, “We all know what you’re going through right now, and on behalf of everyone we just want to say we’re all with you. We’re pulling for you. We’re fighting alongside you. We all wish you the best on this journey, but we just want you to remember that we’re all thinking of you.”

Other players who spoke to support Steve included Tony Finau, Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, Jordan Spieth, Billy Horschel, Adam Scott, Jon Rahm, and others.

Greg Norman vs The PGA: What’s been up?

In a recent turn of events, LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman issued a bold statement against the Tour. He talked about the poise of choice the Tour imposed on the players, and how that was not the case with LIV Golf.

He said, “The PGA Tour used us and kind of bled us dry. It was a great place to play, but it was the only place to play…We had no option but to sign the rules and regulations…We couldn’t even negotiate it.”

According to the Great White Shark, the players have been given an option to choose between the PGA Tour and the new Saudi-backed league by LIV Golf. But that is not the case with the PGA Tour. In his opinion, the tour has used the players and has left the golfers with no other choice than to comply with the rules the Tour put in place.
