With the alcohol industry flourishing, there seems to be no looking back as the world dives in to invest in the dense and competitive market. Mark Wahlberg became the latest to join the long list of celebrities who have bought their share in the industry, with particular emphasis on tequila. The actor joined hands with Mexican golfer Abraham Ancer and Mexican entrepreneur Aron Marquez, in their brand ‘Flecha Azul’.
In 2016, Ancer and Marquez came together and decided to combine their love for tequila to create a premium product with a rich taste of heritage. In an interview with Forbes, Marquez shed light on the first origin of their plan. He said, “We had already known each other for years and bonded over our shared history, deep appreciation for Mexican culture and love of tequila.”

“Eventually we felt like we had to create our own to do it best. Creating Flecha Azul ultimately became a representation of our friendship.” Since then, the pair have come a long way. Only in 2020, a couple of years after its inception, did the brand find its way to America. And recently, the two had the latest addition to their team, none other than Mark Wahlberg!
Mark Wahlberg shares his vision for Abraham Ancer co-founded Flecha Azul
Talking to CNN Business, the 50-year-old divulged into details of his initial thoughts.
He said, “It’s funny because when it was first mentioned to me I said ‘absolutely not’. You have all these other people out there claiming to have gone to Mexico and created tequila and cultivated agave and all this stuff. They were like, ‘This is not what that is, we have two amazing guys who are really young and like-minded.’ … I just said I would love to invest in them.”
Excited to announce my latest project, @FlechaAzulTeq. When I met founders @Abraham_Ancer & Aron Marquez and tried Flecha Azul, I wanted to share their amazing product with the rest of the world.
