“He wants to come back. I will say that: I believe he really wants to come back and play the Tour.” Yes, this was what golf veteran Fred Couples had said when he was asked about what he thinks of LIV defectors returning to the PGA TOUR. Couples’ comments sparked speculation about Brooks Koepka’s future plans, and now Koepka has finally broken his silence. When asked about the rumors, Koepka said, “Everybody seems to have their own opinion, and no one asks me.”

He acknowledged that he had spoken to Fred Couples but didn’t delve into details. Koepka remained noncommittal about his future, stating, “I’ve got a contract obligation out here to fulfill, and then we’ll see what happens.” For now, Koepka is focused on improving his game, saying, “Right now, I’m just focused on how do I play better, how do I play better in the majors, how does this team win, and then we’ll figure out next year and how to play better again. It’s the same thing. It’s just a revolving cycle.”

Koepka’s future with LIV Golf indeed remains shrouded in uncertainty, and his latest comments have done little to clarify the situation. “I’ve got nothing. Everybody else seems to know more than I do,” Koepka said, fueling speculation about his plans. Another thing worth noting is that Koepka is the only player on the LIV Golf circuit who still doesn’t wear his team-branded gear, which has only added to the whispers about his potential departure.

Phil Mickelson’s comments on Brooks Koepka’s PGA Tour rumors

Phil Mickelson has lashed out at Fred Couples, labeling him a “low-class jerk” for claiming that Brooks Koepka wants to quit LIV Golf and return to the PGA Tour. Couples, a staunch critic of the LIV breakaway, had said that he believes Koepka wants to come back to the PGA Tour, citing their frequent conversations. However, Mickelson took issue with Couples’ comments, saying that they were damaging to Koepka’s relationships and narrative control. As Mickelson put it, “If it’s not true, he damaged a relationship which he cares about. If it’s true he took away Brooks’ control of the timeline and narrative. Either way, this is a low-class jerk move by Fred.”
