I’m a 9 handicapper and would be happy with 230 yards most drives. Worst part of my game distance off the tee
— Anthony Furay (@Furay85) March 4, 2023
230 off the tee is no issue for a high handicapper like me. It’s how many stay in the fairway that matter.

For people saying that’s way too low, remember its the average, including bad tee shots. Not the average of good tee shots. Hit a tree 180 yards away then next hole bomb one 300 in the fairway? Your average is 240 but you tell people you drive it 300.

The whole point of looking at average distances in golf is to factor in the shots that don’t go as far as you hoped. While your best shot might go farther than the average. However, one needs to consider their mishits as well, such as a topped drive or a hook into the trees.
