Nathan Followill, the drummer of the rock band Kings of Leon, also had a list of things to do in Sydney, which also included playing at an Australian Golf Course. Nathan Followill denied playing golf because of the ‘no-tattoo’ policy

Followill decided to tick off playing at the prestigious golf club from his Syndey Bucket list. However, much to Followill’s surprise, he was asked to cover up his tattoos on entry. The band member was quite offended.

He took to Twitter to share his thoughts by tweeting, “A Sydney bucket list golf course for me just went on the f**k it lists”. Nathan Followill then criticized the policy, which according to him is outdated. He added, “I was told I would have to cover up my tattoos due to a “no tattoo policy” Welcome to the 1950’s and a hell of a way to grow the game”.

Nonetheless, his brother and fellow band member Jared were allowed entry to the prestigious golf club, since they did not have any tattoos. The Grammy winner artist did not reveal the name of the golf club. However, most clubs in Sydney follow strict regulations.

As per reports, the Australian Golf Club in Kensington and the picturesque Royal Sydney Golf Club in Rose Bay both require “prominent tattoos” to be covered when on the premises. However, the Royal Sydney club released a statement defending themselves. They said, “As our course has been closed for turfcare maintenance since Sunday, this likely occurred somewhere else. Given that, it wouldn’t be appropriate for the club to make a comment on this”.

Fans supported Nathan Followill in the goof-up. The drummer then followed with a series of tweets criticizing the club management. He also joked about inviting the golf course bosses to his Sydney concert, but would only be allowed entry if they have a fresh new tattoo. It would be interesting to see if the club managers do show up at the concert.
