Last week Team US revealed all their players for the upcoming Ryder Cup. Now it is Team Europe’s turn to reveal their cards. Zach Johnson’s announcement of his sixth Captain’s pick gave Luke Donald ample time to revisit all his decisions.
And while Donald is about to make his announcement of the Captain’s pick, one name has earned qualification to join the team. Joining the Ryder teams will be a Scotland golfer who at a time used to be a fierce rival of Irishman Rory McIlroy. Let’s find out who the lucky player is
Ryder Cup dreams come true for Scotland golfer

Achieving his Ryder dream for this year, year, Robert MacIntyre has successfully claimed a spot on the team. The Ryder Cup just announced that McIntyre will be making his first appearance for Team Europe in Rome later this month after securing the third automatic qualification spot on the European Points List.
The 27-year-old came out on top with a tied 55th finish in Switzerland to confirm his place in the team that will head to Marco Simone Golf & Country Club where he won his second DP World Tour title.
Earlier Luke Donald has expressed his hope that McIntyre would qualify. The Scottish player will enjoy his first Ryder Cup experience later this month. So far for Team Europe the names that have been confirmed to play at the Ryder Cup are Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Victor Hovland, Tyrrell Hatton, and Tommy Fleetwood.

And while the six Captain’s picks remain to be declared, players are fighting hard to claim the spot. On the curb are Yannik Paul, Adrian Meronk Matt Fitzpatrick, and Sepp Straka who are trying their best in this last week to gain Donad’d attention and earn a spot.
McIntyre’s Genesis Scottish Open performance played a vital role in Ryder Cup selection

MacIntyre stood a chance for the final automatic qualification spot after a solo second finish at the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open, which is the third Rolex Series event of 2023 on the DP World Tour.
He bumped up nine spots after he finished second behind old foe Rory McIlroy at The Renaissance Club and left behind fellow Ryder Cup rookie hopeful Yannik Paul in the third and final qualification spot on the European Points list with 1,732.77 points. This week he is performing at the Omega European Masters where after the third round he is on T55.
