PGA Tour Pro Joel Dahmen was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2011. It was a tough phase in his life that made him worry a lot. But now that Dahmen has left behind that turbulent phase, he is learning to enjoy life and golf rather than rushing through things.

Dahmen appeared on The Loop podcast hosted by Christopher Powers, Alex Myers, and Steve Hennessey, and there he revealed his secret to happy living and enjoying golf. According to him, he enjoys golf rather than just playing like a robot. Moreover, he calls his caddie Gino his best friend and enjoys his company on the greens.

He said: “I surround myself, with great people. I mean, my wife’s a lot of fun. You know, I just have great people around me that allow me to be myself.” And Dahmen also realized that in order to play his best golf, he had to be who he was. He added, “My first year out there, I tried to be someone I wasn’t I tried to be a serious golfer. I tried to do everything, though, you know, the way that was supposed to be done.”

But that did not turn out that effectively for him. Now he believes in taking it easy and is in fact following in the footsteps of the bad boy of golf, John Daly.

He made the announcement on his Instagram account. He posted a video in which he is wearing a cooking apron. He says: “Hey you! You in there. Do you like whiskey? It’s your lucky day. I’m teaming up with Bushmills. The world’s first licensed whiskey distillery. Next time you hit the clubhouse, your first Bushmills is on me.”
