In the last year, Jay Monahan’s attitude toward the LIV defectors was of extreme hatred. However, his tone after the merger has been softened. And after his comeback from a short sabbatical, a lot of major changes have happened on the tour that has also eased the PGA Tour players’ irritation towards him. But not everyone who has left the tour for a better opportunity maintains a love for their old team.

This year Varner won the LIV Golf Washington, D.C event and took a big paycheck home. And he wants even better results for himself which he won’t get on the PGA Tour. And this week as he competes at the LIV Golf, Bedminster, Varner opens up about his experience on the new circuit.

Ahead of his performance this week, Varner gave an exclusive interview to Golfweek where he answered big questions. Firstly he answered about how his year has been on LIV and how it makes him feel. He said, “It’s been awesome. I think there are more people. Obviously, with the merger, I think it’s easing some minds and hearts I think.” And Varner does not bother himself with these things and his main focus is playing golf.

When questioned about if he would make any changes to the current situation he said that he don’t care. He just wants to play for a lot of money which is fun and he is loving his schedule.

Asked about his views on the framework agreement he replied he didn’t expressed any concern. “I don’t care because it’s not going to go into effect right now. They’re not gonna figure it out for a while.” Varner said that it is not his job to worry about it since he wasn’t approached for any suggestions. But what he thinks about his old tour is the big question.

Will Harold Varner ever go back to the PGA Tour?

Then Varner was hit with the big question of whether will he ever return to the PGA Tour. And to this, he replied a blatant no. He said, “There’s a couple of tournaments I want to play, but other than that, no, I like it here. Why would I go? I love the team format. I don’t think I can speak for everyone but I can definitely speak for myself.” It looks like Varner might try his luck on another Tour but has no intention to head back to his former tour at all. He also said that he might try the Korn Ferry Tour.

Speaking about the difference between the two tours Varner ruled out the misconception that he often hears that LIV is not serious. According to him winning money on the LIV Golf is a lot harder than winning a PGA Tour event. And as he competes at Bedminster he shows no desire of going back to his old team led by Jay Monahan.
