Tyrrell Hatton, who had a miserable T20 finish at the Opens, is currently taking a temporary break from his golfing career. This intentional hiatus will allow him to recharge and return to the greens with renewed focus and energy for the upcoming FedEx Cup playoffs. The first event of the playoffs, the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, is set to commence this week.

Due to his break, Hatton has been absent from recent tournaments, including the Wyndham Championship. This is the final event of the PGA Tour season, which took place at Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina. Although he didn’t take part in the competition where Lucas Glover won by 2 strokes, the Englishman still pocketed a cool $1 million thanks to the AON Risk Reward Challenge.

Introduced in 2019, this thrilling challenge serves as a season-long competition to determine the standouts amongst the players. This year, the 31-year-old golfer secured the prize money when his closest competitor, Stephan Jaeger from Germany, narrowly missed making an eagle on his designated hole during the final round of the tournament. This twist of fate resulted in the golfer claiming the prize and left everyone astonished by the outcome.
