Of late, the news of the departure of a key member of Brooks Koepka‘s Smash GC Team has done the rounds relentlessly. Yes, that Matthew Wolff has left the squad following his last LIV Golf event in Washington, DC in May.

However, in an extraordinary turn of events, the 24-year-old golfer appears to have returned to Koepka’s team ahead of LIV Golf’s Valderrama event in Spain.

Matthew Wolff to play in the LIV Valderrama event

 Wolff is a talented player, there is no doubt about that. He appeared in seven LIV events before reportedly leaving the Smash GC squad. 

As per reports, his decision to leave the club was his own, and it did not sit well with many.

To many, it seemed that he had made the wrong choice.

However, all’s well that ends well as he has come back to the four-member team just in time.

The Smash GC Twitter account has posted a photo of their all four squad members. Yes, Wolff features in it.

This says it all: the American golfer is back to shine.

Soon after this, NUCLR Golf too took to Twitter and shared the news hinting at Matthew Wolff’s return. The post read: “Matt Wolff back on Smash GC, it appears.”

For the uninformed, as a group these players have done an outstanding job so far. So this is good news for the team and its fans.

Where had Wolff gone after departing the Smash GC team?

Many reported that he had left the team on account of personal reasons. Some insinuated that there was some kind of personality clash.

It’s worth noting that the Smash GC had also removed his name from their official social media bio.

He had been looking for a new team, it was reported in the media as the young athlete was keen to join another squad to compete in the remaining events of the year.

Several supporters predicted that he will return to his previous team Creek GC even though no Creek players were considering switching.

As of now, it appears Wolff failed to find a new team and he had no other alternative but to return to his old team.

Anyway, now that they, the quartet, are back together, we believe they will raise the bar in the Valderrama event. The said event is scheduled to take place from June 30-July 2.
