After a practice round on the beautiful greens at Pebble Beach, Nelly Korda honestly expressed her feelings about the scenic course and the difficulty that one might face during the tournament. In reference to the latter, she said: “All of it.” Korda further explained how crucial every action is, especially the hitting bit.
After all, it is a major championship! It will demand extra caution from the golfers. Korda mentioned how hitting the fairways is a must. This enchanting yet challenging course offers thick roughs in some places.
The World No.2 concluded by mentioning the role of luck. She said, “I think that all kind of needs to come together, but probably the smallest greens I’ve ever seen. It’s an amazing golf course. I think every part of your game has to really click“.

The return of the World No. 2 and her presence at the US Women’s Open
After taking a break from golf due to her health concerns, the 24-year-old returned to the greens at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Alas! The results from the $10 million major did not do justice to the capabilities of the star golfer. She failed to even make the cut at the championship.

Even though it wasn’t an ideal start after her return, she will look to start the third major on a positive note. Despite the challenge the greens in California might pose, Korda will aim to tame the course and get back her form.
To encourage the golfer more… her US Women’s Open score of 2022 has been one of her best finishes in the major. The Olympic gold medalist finished tied 8th at last year’s event. However, the fans would hope to see her outshine herself from July 6-9.
