Scott’s first pick was the historic Augusta National. Scott says “I have to put Augusta in there of course. Of all the majors it is the one that kind of transcends golf. It has some appeal outside of golf into the sports world.” Indeed, Augusta is something legendary and gives a completely different aura.
He had a variety of choices for the Open Championship. “As far as the Open Championship goes, I’d say Muirfield is my favorite track. And then you have got to put St Andrews in there because of the atmosphere.”
Although his previous experience at the Shinnecock made him inclined towards it as well: “I really love the Shinnecock Hills Golf Course. I’ve played two US Opens there and they have both been pretty brutal because of the green situation we have had there.” But besides these, he also commended the Olympic club. “I think the Olympic club is a good venue for a major championship.” His long career has given him the opportunity to play on many courses.
