‘We Will Beat ‘Em’: Hours After Earning $3,000,000, Bubba Watson Publicly Challenges Dustin Johnson’s LIV Team

Fans are currently going crazy after watching how things turned out at the LIV Golf Singapore event. With Talor Gooch’s back-to-back victories at Adelaide and Singapore, the golfer has brought much pride to his team – the Range GOATs GC. However, it is just the beginning for these golfers. And to make things even spicier, team captain Bubba Watson has now thrown an open challenge toward Dustin Johnson’s ‘4Aces’ for the upcoming Tulsa event!

Bubba Watson provokes Dustin Johnson ahead of LIV Golf Tulsa

The PGA Tour lost tons of talented players to LIV Golf for its lucrative money deals and shorter schedules. But most importantly, the Saudi League offered the players a unique team concept in golf, and they absolutely loved it. Not to forget, Talor Gooch recently mentioned how the main reason for his transition to LIV Golf was the idea of having team events.

However, along with high team spirit, comes great competitiveness among professionals and their respective teams. And so is the case with Bubba Watson and three colleagues in the Range GOATs GC team. The golfer and his teammates have been extremely excited ever since they won the Singapore tournament. And notably, their excitement has led Bubba Watson and his buddies to leave an open challenge for Dustin Johnson and his team, the 4Aces!

In their recent post-game press conference, the Watson and friends were asked about their reaction to Johnson’s old “you’ll never get back there” claims from Miami. And without wasting even a single second to respond, Gooch said, “Yeah, where’s D.J. right now?”. But that was not all.

Following his statement, the other teammates, Harold Varner III, and Bubba Watson had something else to say. “You let him know we’re coming,” Varner said. “He’ll know in Tulsa…I hate that they’re really good and we haven’t beat ’em. And we did today…” Moreover, Watson showed complete support towards his teammate’s words and said, “And we will beat ’em again. They’re going to come for us next time.”

Bubba Watson’s family’s role in his LIV Golf decision

Watson has been very clear with his reasons to join the Saudi circuit. The golfer has talked about this in several interviews and has admitted that more than anything else; it was his family who wanted him to join in. As per his interview from 2022, the golfer said, “My wife loved it…we prayed about it, we came to the decision and here we are.”

While in another press conference, the golfer mentioned how his ‘10-year-old son’ absolutely loved watching “The Aces”. And that is another reason that drove him to believe that “LIV has a niche, it has a reason.”
