Bryson DeChambeau’s Break 50 series has a new update! The 2X Major Champion, with 858K subscribers on YouTube, has a segment where guests on his channel attempt to play nine holes in less than 50 strokes. The series has already featured golfers like Paige Spiranac, Sergio Garcia, and many more.

This time around, the high-profile guest list has added a new name to the list. Not a prominent golf entity but a former POTUS who is known for his avid love for the gentlemen’s game, Donal Trump! The 78-year-old joined Bryson DeChambeau at the Break 50, and, well, he did it for charity as well.

Bryson DeChambeau had reached out to both the presidential candidates—Joe Biden and Donald Trump—a few weeks ago to be a guest in his newly launched series. While Biden’s campaign manager rejected the proposal, Donald Trump happily accepted it. The video is to come out on Tuesday.

Ensuring there are no speculations of having an agenda behind the video, he firmly stated on his official X (formerly Twitter), “To be clear, this is about golf and giving back to our nation’s veterans, not politics.” For every stroke that the golfers score under par, they will be donating $10,000 to a charity in support of US veterans and active duty service members.

He even promoted his series by the end of the post and opened up the Break 50 challenge to anyone else who wishes to join him in a golf match. DeChambeau, already having played with Trump earlier wrote, “It is an incredible honor to be able to enjoy a round of golf with any sitting or former president, and all have an open invitation to join me for a round of Break 50 anytime.”

While the 30-year-old just wanted to enjoy a round of golf, entertain his fans, and raise money for a good cause, that was not how the golf community perceived it. His decision to invite the former POTUS garnered disapproval from many.

The golf community is not happy with Bryson DeChambeau’s new guest

Bryson DeChambeau has a loyal fan base. While a lot of people criticized him even when he joined LIV Golf back in 2022, he was backed up by his fans, and well, his performance came out as a strong answer too. Excited fans also backed the Crushers’ captain up when he announced his upcoming video for Tuesday. “This is gonna be awesome,” wrote one of them.

It’s no secret that the LIV Golfers share a close friendship with Trump. The duo has been spotted together often, be it at the 2022 LIV Golfers event in Bedminster, or Trump FaceTiming DeChambeau from Palm Beach and appreciating him for participating in the World Long Drive Championship. There has always been a camaraderie, and they have also teed off together in several courses owned by Trump.

Well, it is needless to say that DeChambeau admires Trump’s golfing game. Taking to this, one of them even commented, “Absolutely no need to explain, you do you, and have a blast.”

To add to the list, when Bryson DeChambeau won the US Open at Pinehurst No. 2, after celebrating with his fans, he continued his victory parade at the Trump National Golf Club alongside Trump’s son Eric Trump. It later on turned into a full-fledged party in Los Angeles. Taking to this, one of them wrote, “He took the US Open trophy to Trumpworld the day after he won. Weird he even feels the need to explain his political allegiance.” While another, simply commented, “Like it or not, there is no way to make an event with the most politically polarizing figure ever to not be about politics.  I’m sure the conversation is solely about whether Trump should try single-length irons or what he is working on in his game, right?”
