Eight times PGA Tour champion Bryson DeChambeau is infamous for his rage on the golf course. He has been caught him on camera many times, losing his cool. And there is yet another controversial incident where he was caught arguing with a cameraman.

During the Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2020, he confronted a cameraman and created a controversial scene. According to him, the cameraman was damaging his brand. But how? Let’s find out.
What happened at the Rocket Mortgage Classic
Bryson DeChambeau was playing well and had a great chance of winning the Rocket Mortgage Classic 2020. But the circumstances were not in his favor. During the middle of his third round, he had a heated conversation with an on-course cameraman. We know DeChambeau for his impressive physique, but many people don’t know that he also has an explosive temper. In the middle of his third round, his anger got the best of him when he got into a shouting match with a cameraman.

After a not-so-excellent sand shot from a greenside bunker on the 7th hole, DeChambeau was visibly angry. He threw his club into the sand in frustration and made a bogey. The major winner was frustrated with the cameraman and his nagging because the cameraman followed him since he started walking to the green till he marked his ball. Even though he called his reaction dumb at the moment, he did not back down as the camera lens focused on him.

DeChambeau was not happy with how the cameraman was following him. He said it felt weird. It was like the cameraman was gawking at him the entire time.. He wondered aloud if the cameraman needed to watch him that closely, especially since he was just doing his job. DeChambeau suggested it might be time for players to be given more protection from this invasiveness.

He said, “I think we need to start protecting our players out here compared to showing a potential vulnerability and hurting someone’s image. I just don’t think that’s necessarily the right thing to do.”
Before moving to the eighth tee, he holed a bogey and went to the cameraman straightaway. After having the conversation, he returned to his game. The distraction was over, and he could get his round off the 13th tee.

Today Bryson DeChambeau is part of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf. And he shifted from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf because this was his business decision. He took his decision based on reasons such as more financial opportunities, more opportunities outside golf, and more time to spend with his family.
