Exploring the rift between LIV Golf and OWGR
The rift between LIV Golf and the Official World Golf Rankings is an ongoing one. Recently a LIV golf player decided to share his opinion on the issue.
This player was Graeme McDowell. He is a professional golfer from Northern Ireland. He has won four PGA Tour tournaments and a total of eleven tournaments on the European Tour, including the 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach and one major championship.

McDowell shared his opinions on the LIV Golf issue. He said, “The word ‘official’ has to go away from OWGR if they don’t take care of the players out here. The longer this goes on, we have a huge amount of deterioration in the current world ranking points for the guys out here. So we are just getting hurt the longer this game gets played.”
The pro golfer was straightforward and blunt in his opinion. Twitter received this news in diverse ways, as always. However, we still do not know what the next step will be on this issue.
LIV players react to the debate about OWGR awarding them world ranking points
Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau, two very famous and able players from LIV golf, were recently spotted interviewing together. This represented a change considering the past animosity between the two parties.
When expressing their opinions regarding LIV Golf players receiving points toward the global ranking, DeChambeau and Koepka did not hold back from being direct and brutally honest.
Bryson said, “They’re delaying the inevitable. We’ve hit every mark in their criteria. To not get points is kinda crazy as, at least I believe, we have the top players in the world.”
You should watch the clip, but essentially the Brooks part went like this:
“Your reaction to the OWGR denying points?”
Koepka: “I hate fence sitting. They need to pick a side. Yes or no.” pic.twitter.com/CznKhnKhAm

He added, “We’re gonna keep dropping down in the rankings until it gets to the point that our rankings won’t ever matter. And that’s what they’re trying to accomplish, and I hope people can see right through that instead of believing the lies they’ve been told.”
Brooks Koepka, also widely known as ‘The Hulk’, was not far behind in expressing his opinions on the issue. The pro golfer said, “I just hate when you sit on the fence. Just pick a side. If it’s yes or no, just pick one. So I’m not a big fan of that.”
