Donald Trump’s friendship with Tiger Woods has always been a topic of discussion, especially during the Presidential elections. But both men have massive respect for each other and play golf together occasionally. Today we look back at when the Former U.S. President wished Woods a speedy recovery following his serious car accident last year.

Trump is popularly known to be an avid golfer himself. He owns several golf courses around the world, including the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster which is set to host the next LIV Golf event.
Last year, Tiger Woods was involved in a serious rollover car accident which left him with multiple broken bones and open fractures in his right leg. Many people wished the golfer a speedy recovery, including the 45th President of the United States.
Donald Trump believes Tiger Woods will bounce back
Just a few days after the golfer’s fatal accident, Donald Trump was asked about the incident. He replied by noting that Woods has previously overcome several difficulties in life, so even this phase of his life will pass.

Trump said, “He’s going to be back. I have no doubt about it, he’s going to be back.” Trump further mentioned how great of a golfer Woods is. He said, “As a golfer he’s just incredible. He’s an incredible guy.”

The Former President then remembered the time when he had the opportunity to present the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Tiger Woods back in 2019. He revealed how everyone in the White House was excited to witness the medal ceremony of the 15-time Major Champion.
Trump said, “Because it was Tiger, everybody wanted to be there. (Woods) considered it one of the great honors of his life.” The interviewer then asks Trump if he would love to share some words for Woods. He replied, “All I’d say to him is get better and get out there because we all miss him. We need Tiger.”
Trump further mentions how Woods helps in bringing in more TV ratings. He finished by saying, “When Tiger is in contention, which is often, the ratings are double and triple. It’s very few people that can cause that kind of phenomena.”

After a year of absence last year, Tiger Woods has made a comeback to professional golf this year by participating in The Masters and The Open. Though his performance wasn’t at the level of his standards, you never know when the Tiger will roar again.
