Going back in time, Mickelson was known as the golfer, regularly making headlines for his addiction to alcohol and gambling. Coming back to the present, the 52-year-old asserts that he isn’t taking the same path anymore. However, the assertion clearly hasn’t been enough for the media, who continue to call him out for the bygone incidents. Understanding the need of the hour, in-fame golf trainer Butch Harmon recently came out in support of Mickelson.

Butch Harmon extends his support to Phil Mickelson

When talking about golf, a name that clearly cannot be missed out is Butch Harmon. The 79-year-old has been one of the most noteworthy golf instructors for over three decades. He is widely known for being a coach to Greg Norman, Tiger Woods, and Phil Mickelson. Considering his popularity, it goes without saying that he is not new to talk shows and interviews. This time was no different.

Harmon recently featured in a podcast hosted by his son Claude Harmon. During the podcast, he opened up about his thoughts on Phil Mickelson. Having worked with Mickelson for 8 years, the star coach clearly seemed to have a clear understanding of Mickelson’s personal life.

He started by saying, “You know there’s things that have come out about him and his personal life that he hasn’t done.” “And look, hey, we all make mistakes; nobody’s perfect, all right,” he further added.

Harmon showed a sign of acceptance of Mickelson’s past. Going ahead in the conversation, he said, “We all make mistakes; there’s things in our past that I think bygones should be bygones.”
