<h3>History of Alpine Skiing</h3>

Downhill is one of the fastest competitions in skiing. As the name suggests, skiers just need to get down to the finishing line by posting the fastest times. They can attain an average speed of 80mph as massive jumps are a part of the course. Super-G is similar to downhill but the skiers make turns during the course. Patience is the key as they take tight turns at incredible speeds.

Her book '<em>Strong is the New Beautiful' </em>fetched her income from its sales. Apart from that, she signed endorsement deals with Beats by Dre, Bounty, Hershey, Red Bull, Rolex, Oakley, and Under Armour.

Thus, all her endorsement deals came with her stunning performances throughout her career. She has also made money out of real estate. In May 2022, she paid $4.385 million for a home in Miami Beach, Florida, which she listed for sale after a year for $6 million.

Vonn was born in St Paul, Minnesota, on October 18th, 1984. She is the daughter of Linda Krohn and Alan Kildow. Growing up in the twin cities, her father is of Irish ancestry while her mother is of German and Norwegian ancestry. She started skiing at age two and the rest as they say is history.

Similarly, her father was a skier too, and won the junior national title. However, a serious injury when he was 18 forced him to end his career in skiing.

Her role model is Picabo Street, an Olympic medalist ski racer. From there, he was her mentor for skiing which led to unparalleled success. After moving to Vail, Colorado to train full-time, Vonn attended the University of Missouri High School online.
<h2 class="jsx-cb26a7af5694ead9"><strong>Lindsey Vonn Career so far: A Look into her Glorious Skiing Career</strong></h2>
In 1999, at the age of 14, Vonn's first victory came in a slalom race at Italy's Trofeo Topolino competition. Making her debut at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, she took part in the combined and slalom but managed to finish only sixth in the combined. But soon, success followed as she won a silver medal for downhill at the 2003 FÃ©dÃ©ration Internationale de Ski (FIS) junior world ski championships.

Being the favorite for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, she suffered a huge crash during the downhill training sessions and had to be airlifted from the site. After initial claims of a broken back, Vonn returned to the competition after two days. Although she did not win a medal, her courage was incredible as the U.S. Olympic Spirit Award. After her recovery from the crash, she won silver medals in the downhill and super-G competitions at the 2007 World Championships.

The aura of Vonn is that she always returned from injuries and provided a sense of spark in the competitions. Her determination is unmatched as she had her best season during 2007-08. Her first overall World Cup title came dominantly, scoring 1403 points. More success followed at World Championships but the penultimate race of her career came during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Woods has a sizable portion of his investments put into real estate. One of the most expensive of those investments is his house on Jupiter Island in Florida. Woods has suffered a dark fate when it comes to accidents. He has been involved in three separate car accidents, each life-threatening. The first came in 2009, when the golf pro lost control of his SUV and crashed it into a fire hydrant, soon after pulling out of the driveway of his Florida mansion. He was knocked out and lost consciousness for nearly 6 minutes. His injuries from the accident had been described as <em>â€œserious.â€</em>

Eight years later, in 2017, the golf legend was arrested in Florida for DUI. The police had found him passed out behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz. There seemed to have been a minor accident before the cops found him.

Tiger Woods&#8217;s Car Accidents Woods has suffered a dark fate when it comes to accidents. He has been involved in three separate car accidents, each life-threatening. The first came in 2009, when the golf pro lost control of his SUV and crashed it into a fire hydrant, soon after pulling out of the driveway of his Florida mansion. He was knocked out and lost consciousness for nearly 6 minutes. His injuries from the accident had been described as â€œserious.â€ Eight years later, in 2017, the golf legend was arrested in Florida for DUI. The police had found him passed out behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz. There seemed to have been a minor accident before the cops found him. In February 2021, Woods was yet again involved in a car accident. Due to a speed crash, his car had flown off the road. He was the only party involved in the accident.
