Amidst all this tension and excitement entered Will Smith, albeit unknowingly. The actor got invoked in the tournament as a unique challenge was put forth for the players on the field.

As the players started to prepare themselves for the tournament, Avery Zweig was seen touring the field with a mike, putting up a challenge to both caddies and players alike. She asked whoever came in front of the mic to finish the lyrics to the song she was singing.

While the golf world is teeming with the hype and tensions around many professional golf events, the U.S. Women’s Amateur is all set to take place at the Bel-Air Country Club. And now, it is none other than the famous actor Will Smith who has been called upon into the game, surprising many fans and players alike.

In the video uploaded on Instagram by the USGA, the young golfer could find people who could finish the song and also caught many unaware as they failed to complete the lyrics. She went around asking for the lyrics to the song “Yo Home To Bel Air” sung by DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince. The beat was the theme song for Will Smith’s iconic show “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.

Although Will Smith has a strong love for the game of golf, he was unknowingly called upon this time into the sport. The challenge invoked the actor’s name, as he was one of the main reasons the name of the place became world famous. Taking place in the home of the epochal show, the 2023 US Women’s Amateur will no doubt carry its name forward to the annals of history.

The city of Los Angeles will get ready to take center stage in the game of golf as the 123rd edition of the event will get underway on August 7.

The 2023 US Women’s Amateur

Bel-Air Country Club will see 156 golfers competing for the title in the 123rd US Women’s Amateur Championship. There are players representing 17 countries taking part in the event with the most number coming from the USA (122). With an average age of the field of players around 20, the event will see intense competition as top golfers take part eyeing the title.

Names such as Anna Davis, Rachel Kuehn, Amari Avery, and Andrea Lignell, among others in the top 25 of the Women’s World Amateur Golf Rankings, will headline the tournament.
