Improvisation gone wrong at the 2022 Honda Classic
Fans have often seen professionals hitting shots from all kinds of places and recovering well. However, what happened at the 2022 Honda Classic was the one-shot all professionals do not like. Lee Hodges, who got his PGA Tour card from the Korn Ferry Tour, tried to improvise on the rather difficult 15th hole in the final round. But sadly, the improvisation did not end the way Hodges would’ve expected.

The 26-year-old professional hit his ball into the huge bunker on the left side of the green on the 15th hole. As a result, his ball rested on a downslope and left him with an impossible next shot. Not to forget, the hole is surrounded by water, and with not much green to work with, it was in play. Lee decided to improvise and take his faithful Scotty Cameron putter for his second shot.
However, his choice was not the best as the ball flew from the putter’s face, hit the bunker lip, took a big bounce on the green and trickled into the swamp over the green. He hit a pretty good chip back onto the green for a nice recovery. But Lee missed two-putted on the green, as a result, carding yet another double-bogey on the treacherous 15th hole.
