Tiger Woods is known for having a large number of crowds follow him from one hole to another. Probably, nobody in the sport has the power to attract such an audience apart from the 15-time Major champion.

However, people in such large groups mean the crowd includes the good, the bad, and the ugly. One such fan distracted Woods before his shot close to the hole which resulted in the golfer missing the hole.

Spectator distracted Tiger Woods

During the 2018 Farm Insurance Open, Woods was at the 13th hole of par 5. The golfer was five feet from the cup when he missed his third attempt.

Woods was cheered on by the crowd as he stalked his birdie putt after a scorching approach shot. But one fan couldn’t help but poke him in the back during his backstroke. Right when the golfer was ready to make an impact with the ball, a blurred voice saying “Get in the hole!”, could be heard.

Distracted, Woods pushed his putt and then gave the audience a stern look. He failed to catch the bad guy. However, someone else did. A different spectator yelled out, “He’s right there!”, identifying a dark-haired male wearing sunglasses and a visor by pointing.

The crowd had grown into a chorus of irate people. They surrounded the perpetrator while brandishing cell phones, taking pictures, recording videos, and yelling with the anger of a crowd. The man wearing the visor started to creep away. Some spectators continued without taking the volunteer’s advice of stopping.

Woods saw right away that he botched the shot and, while being angry, he reportedly asked for the fan to be taken away – understandably. Proving that angry Tiger is the best Tiger, Woods went on to drive his next tee shot 323 yards and made a birdie on 14.
