Expectations from TGL are sky-high
The first two matches turned out to be unexpectedly one-sided. While the fanfare and excitement were there, both the victories were lopsided. The second match which saw Tiger Woods’s debut in the league had some unmissable moments. But even though Tiger Woods’s presence was enticing, it failed to make the competition exciting, as Sahith Theegala and Co. ousted Jupiter Links Golf Club 12-1.
There was good viewership for Match 1 (919,000 viewers) and Match 2 (1.005 million viewers), but for the trend to continue upward, the matches need to be competitive. A lot of onus rides in this match, with the individual matches from holes 10-15 looking as enticing as the triple games.

Justin Thomas‘s head-to-head match-up against the 27-year-old Cameron Young is going to be a mouth-watering clash. Expect a tight battle, reminiscent of the 2022 PGA Championship. Thomas finished as the winner, then while Young had to settle for T3, losing out by one shot at a chance to compete in the playoff.
While Game 3 in itself will be enthralling, Game 4 happening on January 27 is a much-awaited event as Rory McIlroy takes the field for the first time at TGL for his team Boston Common Golf. He will be up against Tiger Woods and his team Jupiter Links Golf Club. A treat for the fans for sure! Are you excited for TGL Match 3?
