Is Scottie Scheffler's playful jab at Xander Schauffele a sign of true friendship or hidden rivalry?

There might be heated rivalry between the two on the course; however, off of it, Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele know how to have fun! After the bout at the Paris Olympics, the two competitors meet again at the St. Jude Championship to win another tournament and race ahead for the PGA Tour Player of the Year accolade. But the rivalry ends on the greens and once off of it, they share a good bond between themselves.

The PGA Tour posted a hilarious video of Scheffler and Schauffele on Instagram. After playing the opening round together at the St. Jude Championship, the world no. 2 crashed the 13-time PGA Tour winner’s press conference. He jokingly asked world no. 2, “What do you think about your playing partner?” Scheffler sarcastically replied, “No comment.”

Then, another reporter asked Scheffler about Schauffele and his two major victories in the 2024 season. The 28-year-old playfully responded with his own one-word question, “Who?” But then he laughed off the entire situation and said, “I find it a little weird that you guys are asking questions about him when he’s literally right there.” Needless to say, Schauffele had taken the pro hat off a bit and just wanted to be another writer at Scheffler’s press conference.

Whenever the day might come, one thing’s for sure: the fans would love to see more of Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele outside of the competitive grounds. Will the PGA Tour hear the fans’ plea and give more Scheffler-Schauffele content? It remains to be seen.
