Not everyone in the world can label themselves as the fastest person in the world except for Usain Bolt. Many have tried and failed to beat the Jamaican. Like others, Paige Spiranac too once attempted to beat Usain Bolt’s 100m record.

Spiranac is undoubtedly very healthy and fit. She frequently promotes fitness on her social media pages, most commonly on YouTube. But last year she attempted to beat Bolt’s World Record.

Bolt set the current world record of 100m back at 2009 IAAF World Championships, clocking an astonishing 9.58 seconds for the feat. The record still stands undefeated.

The well-known model, golfer, and podcast host is also a PointsBetUSA ambassador, thus it was with the bookies that she accepted the challenge. In all fairness, Spiranac’s attempt was impressive.

Before her sprint, Spiranac did admit she hasn’t made any preparation. She said, “I love the Olympics and watching these athletes push themselves to the absolute limit.”

The Golf influencer further added, “And today I’m going to do the exact same – can I beat the world record in the 100m sprint with a little bit of athletic ability and zero preparation?” The video quickly went viral on social media last year.

The women’s world record for a 100m sprint is 10.49 seconds, set by American Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988. However, the then 28-year-old managed to cross the line in 14.24 seconds before collapsing to the floor in exhaustion.

Spiranac then joked by saying, “In a shocking turn of events, I did not beat the world record! It just shows you how amazing these athletes are.”

It just serves to highlight how challenging it is to succeed at such a high level of sports and how difficult it is for the competitors to meet the criteria necessary to win a gold medal. But despite this, Spiranac still completed the sprint in a respectable time.

When Spiranac came to the aid of Olympic Gold medalist

Paige has always spoken up against any wrongdoing. During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Simone Biles was publicly criticized after she failed the drug test. Many athletes came to her support, including the 2022 Maxim’s Sexiest Woman Alive.

Spiranac tweeted, “Simone Biles did not quit on her team. She is competing the most difficult skills in the world. It isn’t like a layup or swinging a golf club. What she’s doing is extremely dangerous and she did what she needed to do to protect herself. She is the GOAT.”

Spiranac herself has overcome public scrutiny several times. She has been using her own example to motivate the younger generation and her followers on how to deal with hatred online.
