Lexi Thompson is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA tour. Thompson is one of the fittest players out there and in a recent post, she gave us a sneak-peak into her fitness routine. She shared clips of her grueling and intense leg workout after a day on the course.

Thompson does two gym workouts in a day and is undoubtedly one of the fittest players on the LPGA tour. Let’s take a look at what her recent workout looked like.

At the start of her career, Thompson took the golf world by storm and in her wake, created a series of records. At age 12 in 2007, she became the youngest ever golfer to take part in the US Women’s Open. Aged 15, she turned professional and a year later, became the then youngest-ever winner of an LPGA tournament.

However, in recent years, she has spent a lot more time in the gym to work on the physical aspect of the sport. In her post, the first clip is of her doing sumo squats. And not just squats, she does them with a 95lbs weight in her hand!

In the next one, we can see her doing calf raises with a bar on her shoulders. Finally, she did some weighted hip thrusts. Owing to her incredible fitness region, Thompson seems to be in superb shape.

Where is Lexi Thompson these days?

The last couple of years have not been ideal for the world number 13. Her last win came in 2019 at the ShopRite LPGA Classic and since she has narrowly missed out on quite a few titles.

However, she revealed she has been spending a lot of time improving the minor aspects of her game. She said, “I put a lot of work in on my chipping and putting, hours a day, and just really making sure my ball-striking is more consistent. Keeping things simple but at the same time trying to improve on little things.”

The 26-year-old believes she’s got the physical part of the game under control. Talking about what’s lacking, she said, “I know I’ve put in the work physically on my game. So, just letting it go and letting my true talent show is what I want. You know, if that comes out to a win, great. If not, I’m going to continue working.”
