Every year, the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic returns with the promise of excellent entertainment. Not only does one see some of the world’s best golfers, but one also sees players interact and go against each other in some other fun activities. Though Victor Hovland was the one who bagged the win, we saw Ian Poulter and Bernd Wiesberger have their own kind of fun.
Apart from the main event, the organizers also conduct the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic Port Challenge. Taking place at the DP World Port of Jebel Ali in Dubai, it’s an elaborate event where both players participated in.
The entire video was uploaded by DP World, providing yet another fun element to the Rolex Series.

Ian Poulter and Bernd Wiesberger take on the Port Challenge at the 2022 Dubai Desert Classic
The nearly six-minute-long video begins with Wiesberger and Poulter standing at the destination. Poulter was chosen to host, while he also plays against Wisberge. “Ok, Bernd as you can see we’re about to take on something very interesting indeed. 125 yards away from us ad 20 shipping containers. Ten are open, ten are closed,” Poulter explains as he opens with the rules.
Furthermore, both golfers are allowed to hit any number of balls they can into the containers placed before them. Of course, that was not all. They would also have to answer some ‘topical’ questions as they played along. “We’ll be thrown a topical question after every three golf shots. For every correct answer you will also win a point”.
Who secured a dramatic win?
The 36-year-old Austria native chose to begin, opting for power as he tried to shoot inside a container. He finished with eight points, having earned two extra by answering that many questions correctly. While Poulter got all answers wrong, he shot nine golf balls into the containers. The last one entered a container with around one second left on the clock.

Wiesberger looked at the camera in disbelief, wondering what was going on with Poulter today. They even joked about the game, talking about Poulter making the shots as if he was shooting darts.
Unfortunately, while he won the fun Port Challenge, Ian Poulter ended up missing the cut at the Desert Classic. Wiesberger, however, finished T24.
