Dustin Johnson is one of the most talented players in professional golf today. The ex-PGA Tour players recently shifted to LIV Golf and have been making tons of records in the new league. However, the celebrations of his recent victory at the LIV Golf finale were very close to turning into a tragedy. And it could have even cost the player his eye!

Dustin Johnson merely avoided a potential eye injury

Dustin Johnson recently made a lot of money from his recent LIV Golf records. The golfer even won the title of LIV Golf’s Individual Champion with one event to spare. Along with the title, Johnson also pocketed $18 million for the same. And his spree for earning millions of dollars didn’t end there. Dustin Johnson and his team “4 Aces” also won the LIV Golf finale in Miami and pocketed 16 million dollars.

As of now, Johnson has earned more than $35 million from LIV Golf in only 5 months. However, many of his fans think that the player is just lucky enough to make so much money in such a short duration. Although it was due to his skills that he made it this far in the league, his luck recently saved him from a potentially major injury!

After Johnson’s team won the finale, the team stood proudly on the stage at the podium ceremony to celebrate their victory. And to spice things up, Johnson and other players got their hands on large bottles of champagne.

But while popping open the bottle, the cork happened to launch in the air hitting directly at Johnson’s face. Luckily, the cork didn’t hit either of his eyes, but it sure scared the golfer for a moment.

Why did Johnson join LIV Golf?

While many other players left the PGA Tour for the highly-paid LIV Golf deals, Johnson had different reasons for his decision. Despite his statement about being “fully committed to the PGA Tour”, Johnson turned out to be among the first 42 players to join LIV.

His agent opened up about the golfer’s decision and said that Johnson had been thinking about it for the “past couple of years”. According to him, Johnson’s decision to join LIV Golf “was in his and his family’s best interest to pursue it.”

As it turned out, Johnson’s recent performance in the first season of LIV Golf has proven to be his most amazing time playing professional golf!
