The PGA Tour is ready to begin 2022 with the Sentry Tournament of Champions. An exciting and high-profile event, players are ready to begin their year on a high note. Golfers like Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson will be playing at the latest events, this time scheduled to take place Kapalua Plantation Course.
Of course, some PGA Tour icons have performed consistently. The PGA Tour, like the fans, is determined to celebrate some iconic performances, just as a new edition commences.
The tour ended up sharing an old video of Dustin Johnson’s, which featured an almost-ace from the 37-year-old.

Dustin Johnson played an incredible par-4 hole back in 2018
In the video, Johnson shoots what would possibly be the drive of the year. He ended up shooting an almost-ace, making his play a highlight for years to come. Even the conditions that day favored Johnson, helping him achieve that successful drive.
“It was blowing, you know, 25 straight down wind. And the course was a little firmer,” Johnson stated after the shot. “You hit it just right to the second bunker on the left and it’s kind of a little run way down to the green but obviously it’s very difficult to hit it there. I just- I got lucky. Hit is right where I wanted to and got a good balance.”

To those unaware, Johnson ended up winning the tournament. Jon Rahm, who was placed second, lost by eight shots. Johnson finished 24-under 268, making it his biggest win ever. “I knew I was playing well, and it’s a golf course I’m really comfortable on,” said Johnson. “I was really driving it well this week. I knew as long as I could keep doing that, I was going to do well.”
Having said that, the 24-time PGA Tour winner has been at Aspen with his fiance Paulina Gretzky. The two of them enjoyed New Year’s with their friends, making sure they welcome 2022 in style.
