Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have shared a friendly rivalry between each other. Both the professionals enjoy a bit of trash-talking while playing with one another. Moreover, once the six-time major championship winner in a funny manner took a dig at the 15-time major championship winner during a PGA Tour event in 2002.

Phil Mickelson cuts off Tiger Woods’ introduction
Every golf fan has witnessed various Tour championships in the past. Where the world’s best professionals compete it out at the East Lake Golf Club. However, the Tour Championship back in 2002 is truly one for the ages. Not only for the intense golf but for a subtle mocking incident between probably two of the golf’s greatest professionals, Eldrick Woods and Phil Mickelson.
Moreover, the two professionals were both paired together at the Tour Championship on Thursday. And the incident took place on the first tee box.

The starter on the first tee box started introducing the 82-time PGA Tour winner, Woods through his accomplishments for that season. The announcer said, “Winner of 34 PGA Tour events. Including the 2002 Masters tournament, the US Open, the Bay Hill Invitational, the Buick Open, and the American Express World Golf Championship.” As soon as the announcer mentioned Tiger’s fifth and the most recent win of the season, Phil pretending to be annoyed and in a funny manner said, “alright, alright.”

Moreover, as soon as, Phil said it everyone, including himself and Tiger started laughing. This has to be probably one of the funniest and epic Tiger and Phil moments ever.
Phil has the last laugh over Tiger
On the business end, neither Tiger nor Phil managed to pull off a win at East Lake Golf Club. However, Phil managed to finish a couple of places above Tiger. Phil ended the event with an overall score of five-under-par. As a result, finished at the tied fifth position, seven shots back from the leader. On the contrary, Tiger ended the event with an overall score of four-under-par and finished tied for the seventh position. Eight shots off the leader. Vijay Singh won the event with an overall score of 12-under-par.
