LIV Golf has undoubtedly cast a spell on European stars this year. Tyrrell Hatton and Adrian Meronk later caught a wave that started with Jon Rahm towards the end of 2023 on. Currently, on top of the news for his defection, Adrian Meronk has recently revealed the reason behind his LIV Golf defection.

Meronk’s reasoning somehow ended up throwing the PGA Tour under the bus. The 30-year-old’s plea that he “wasn’t enjoying it as much” rang a bell, with a large sect of the golf fraternity having similar concerns. But why did he not enjoy his time as much?

There is no doubt that Meronk’s defection has left a scar on the PGA Tour side of the golf camp. The European sensation was at the peak of his career; having recently won the 2023 Seve Ballesteros Award, the star golfer’s decision to defect to LIV Golf came as a shock.

His reasoning for doing so? Well, it all comes down to the schedule that he has had in the past two years. The Polish professional golfer said, “I think the most important thing for me was the schedule. The last two years, I had really great years in my career, but to be honest, I wasn’t enjoying it as much.”

Unveiling the real reason behind why he wasn’t having the best time, he added, “I was just constantly on the road. We didn’t have a proper home, just packing from hotel to hotel and airport to airport. I was sitting with my parents and my girlfriend during Christmas, and I was just saying, ‘Yeah, I had a great year, but I didn’t really enjoy it.'”

The excessive traveling and lack of family time were not something the European sensation wanted out of a career in golf. Considering that came as part and parcel of the side of the golf world he was previously on, it made sense for him to move LIV-wards.

But is he alone in feeling so strongly about the PGA Tour?

Is Meronk’s view of PGA Tour shared by others?
