Alan Shipnuck is a sports writer by profession. Besides that, he is a journalist who has always had an avid interest in the Phil-Tiger conflict. Hence, in one of his books, ‘LIV and Let Die’ he explicitly spoke about how Tiger Woods orchestrated the exclusion of Mickelson from the 2022 Open Championship dinner.
He even wrote that the Hall of Famer took the toil to get permission from other golfers and apprised R&A that none wanted Mickelson at the table. A few days ago, he even spoke about how Tiger Woods is making a comeback to give competition to LIV.
After passing a comment on Woods’ intentions, he spoke about Phil Mickelson in the same interview. He said, “Phil Mickelson needed to be validated as the smartest guy in the room. All of them wanted the money, clearly, but there’s a lot more at play. The ‘good guys’ always have a little shadow, and with the ‘bad guys,’ there’s usually a redeeming quality or two. ”
