Tiger Woods has had an illustrious professional career spanning four decades. There are a lot of moments from his glittering career history that are worthy of remembrance. Some moments Wood’s have been a part of are so epic that they are probably amongst the greatest moments in golf history.
Even though Woods hasn’t retired, he has been on the sidelines while recovering from a car accident since early 2021. So, during the PGA tour tournaments, his absence really stands out. Today, let’s take a moment to appreciate the legend and admire one of his many mind-blowing shots.
A chip that contributed to his victory at the 2005 Masters Tournament is undeniably one that tops the list. At the Augusta National Golf Club, Woods approached the 16th hole on Sunday as the leader.

He aimed for the green and ended up in the rough. It was a decent 50 yards off the hole and Woods decided to chip it in.
He hit the ball low, high on the slope and watched it gradually approach the hole. However, pressure built, and time seemed to have stopped as the ball theatrically paused on the lip of the hole.
And just when everyone thought it was all over, somehow the ball tipped it into the hole. The crowd roared with excitement and Woods knew he was one step away from another title.

Following this hole, Woods threw away his two-point lead by hitting bogeys on the last two holes. He set up a playoff against co-leader and the eventual runner-up, Chris DiMarco.
However, being the champion he is, Woods won on the first hole with a birdie to wear the Green Jacket once again.

Giddy and shocked himself, Woods later said, “I was just trying to throw the ball up there on the hill and let it feed down there and hopefully have a makeable putt.”
“It looked pretty good, and all of a sudden it looked like really good and it looked like how could it not go in and how did it not go in and all of a sudden it went in, so it was pretty sweet.”
